The purpose of this website is to provide information about Orthodox Christianity in a space that’s easily accessible to those interested in the Orthodox faith, current catechumens, and new converts. Orthodox Christianity in America on a large scale is relatively new. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to find one singular website where you can obtain a large amount of information on the Orthodox faith. Our goal is to become a spiritual beacon for sailing souls on the stormy seas of life, and to guide you home to Christ where we all belong.
Orthodox Christianity calls you out of the darkness. It beckons you to the Uncreated Light, the true love of God, which is for all of us to become part of through our own theosis.
St. Gregory the Theologian says that God’s providence arranges all things “for our benefit,” even when they appear difficult. Our role is not to resist but to submit in faith.
St. Cyprian of Carthage says, “He cannot have God for his Father who does not have the Church for his Mother.” The Church is like Noah’s ark; outside of it, there is no salvation.
St. John Crysystom says, “The Church is your hope, the Church is your salvation, the Church is your refuge.”. To be part of the Church is to be joined to Christ Himself. Separation from the Church means separation from the life of Christ.
Our goal here at Guided & Guarded is essentially to point you in the right direction. We are not a Parish, we are not a physical location, we are a movement. This movement encourages your movement towards the Church. We want to provide you with as much information as possible so that you can learn more about the one true Church and ultimately save your soul. We are calling all of our brothers and sisters in Christ to turn towards a tradition and faith that isn’t American, it’s Christian. Christ is above all ethnicities, politics, and geography. The Truth is simply the Truth.
